As a kid you are always encouraged to dream and probably thats what shapes our aspirations. Growing up narrows down the scope and scale of our dreams and suddenly our dreams shape into some kind of a nightmare. We are too cosy to venture out into the unknown citing risk and perceived failures. We wish we never have had dreams and our existence glorifies the monotony which is far worse than the risk we could have opted for.
And then the rat race to time your life, doing things people generally do at the right age , get married, start paying emi for the next house if you already have one, upgrade your car , etc. somehow cuts down our appetite for risk. The constant urge to better oneself within the predefined boundaries tends to choke ourselves but we rather suffocate rather than break the bondage set in our minds.
As we wait impatiently for one weekend after the other hoping that the next weekend is nearby we never tend to live life to the fullest during the weekdays. Its like a pre-programmed series of actions happening during the week and we are thrilled at the prospect of freedom to think over and then not do it in the weekend.
Spending the golden phase of our lives in constant pursuit of something or the other somehow seems to satiate the feeling that this might may be the purpose of our lives. However it could have got worse if we had pursued anything at all but the search for the right path is the most painful. Because there will never be a right path and treading the unknown would make a difference as per Mark Twain, but then it would not be different anymore as Mark Twain has already said so. Rightly supported by the Bible which says there is not a single thing under the sun which you can discover, so probably we would rather be safe to stay humble and seek a place in heaven after our last weekend.
